Hurricane Harvey: 7 Tornadoes In Houston As Storm Churns Inland
BREAKING: Tornadoes caused minimal damage to homes and and other property as Harvey deluges the Gulf Coast with rain.

HOUSTON, TX — Hurricane Harvey spawned seven tornadoes in the Houston area in the hours after the Category 4 storm made its landfall 187 miles from Houston in Rockport.
The National Weather Service confirmed that seven tornadoes touched down in the Houston area, with three confirmed on the south side of Greater Houston, and four others confirmed near Cypress Saturday evening. Many the twisters that formed south downtown started Friday night in Galveston County. One touched down near Texas City, and another was repoted in Galveston.

On Saturday morning, two unconfirmed tornadoes were reported minutes apart in Missouri City’s Sienna Plantation and Richmond, causing damage to more than 50 homes, emergency officials said.
A relatively quiet Saturday afternoon in Houston became more active when dark clouds returned and ushered in more tornadic activity.

Four tornadoes were spotted in northwest Houston near Cypress, with one of those touching down near Fry Road, Black Horse Ranch and Lone Oak where several homes, a business and several fences were damaged, KPRC reported.
So far, there have been no injuries.
Harris and Fort Bend Counties remain under a tornado warning.
