As school starts, trauma experts and Precinct 4 officials are pushing helmet use, parent education, and possible new rules for e-scooters and e-bikes to prevent more local injuries.

2. Houston and Woodlands to consider blocking future annexation via $50M agreement (houstonchronicle.com) — Houston leaders are weighing a $50 million agreement that would permanently give up the city's right to annex The Woodlands in exchange for phased payments and control of a shared regional fund. The Houston City Council and The Woodlands Township board will vote next week, potentially reshaping how future tax dollars, infrastructure projects, and regional growth are handled north of Houston.

3. How a small Houston-area city helped Flock cameras take off nationwide (click2houston.com) — Jersey Village, just northwest of Houston, now has 58 Flock license plate reader cameras blanketing major intersections, raising both safety hopes and privacy worries for Houston-area drivers. 4. Houston woman loses hundreds of dollars in rental scam (fox26houston.com) — A northwest Houston renter is warning others after losing $750 to a scammer who listed a home on Redfin and provided fake lease documents and access codes.
