Southern TX PGA Pro Runs NYC Marathon for a Great Cause

PGA Professional and Southern Texas PGA Section Assistant Executive Director, Scott Archer, Runs for PGA of America REACH Foundation

Southern Texas PGA Section (based in Spring, TX) Assistant Executive Director Scott Archer was part of a team of 16 PGA of America Golf Professionals that ran the TCS New York City Marathon - one of 60 adult and youth races produced annually by nonprofit New York Road Runners - Sunday, November 3. They ran in support of the PGA of America REACH Foundation, the 501(c)(3) charitable foundation of the Association, with a goal of raising $115,000.

The 2024 race was the eighth consecutive year the PGA of America REACH Foundation was an Official Charity Partner of the TCS New York City Marathon. Since 2017, 47 PGA of America Golf Professional runners have raised over $365,000 and covered 1,965 miles in New York City to help impact lives through the game of golf.

Archer and 15 other runners ran to raise awareness and donations to support the four pillars of the Foundation: PGA Jr. League, PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), PGA WORKS and PGA Places to Play. The Foundation was among the 599 official charity partners providing thousands of runners an opportunity to run in the world’s most popular marathon.
