The Red Cross national blood inventory is the lowest it’s been at this time of year since 2015, with less than a day’s supply of certain blood types in recent weeks. Blood cannot be manufactured or stockpiled and can only be made available through the kindness of volunteer donors.

The Red Cross will be accepting blood donations 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 14 at the City of Irving's Valley View Municipal Complex, 333 Valley View Lane.

Appointments are recommended. To schedule a donation appointment, RedCrossBlood.org and enter the sponsor code “cityofirving” or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Donors in October will receive a free Zaxby’s Signature Sandwich by email or $5 e-gift card (rcblood.org/zax) and limited-edition Give Y’ALL Texas State T-shirt (while supplies last).
