• Wrong-Way Driver Charged With Intoxication Manslaughter After Motorcyclist Killed on SH 114 in Irving (irvingweekly.com) — A wrong-way crash on SH 114 in Irving's Las Colinas area early Saturday left a motorcyclist dead and a 30-year-old driver facing an intoxication manslaughter charge, police say. The wreck shut down part of the highway for hours as investigators worked the scene, and a passenger was also arrested for public intoxication.
   

• Irving Police Officer Shoots Knife-Wielding Woman During Domestic Disturbance in South Irving (irvingweekly.com) — An Irving police officer shot and wounded a knife-armed woman during a domestic disturbance on Rolston Road in South Irving Saturday evening, after a less-lethal weapon failed to stop her advance, according to police. Officers and Irving Fire Department medics provided aid before she was taken to a hospital, and three separate investigations, including one by Dallas County's Public Integrity Unit, are now underway.
   

• Dallas Man Accused In 561-Loan, $11M PPP Kickback Machine (dallasexpress.com) — Federal prosecutors say a man who has lived in both Dallas and Irving is accused of helping generate more than $11 million in fraudulent pandemic PPP loans, alongside a Chicago co-defendant. A grand jury indicted both on conspiracy and wire fraud counts, with authorities alleging hundreds of bogus applications and kickbacks but stressing they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
