Here are the top three stories in Irving today:

  1. A group of Irving grandmothers are doing their part to raise awareness and show support for Ukraine — a situation that they say reminds them of the World War II era they grew up in. Yesterday morning, local resident Nell Anne Hunt and other women in the community met to make wreaths to hang on doors, bows to tie on trees, and pins to wear, all in the Ukrainian colors of blue and yellow. The grandmothers plan to give their craft creations to neighbors and community members, according to NBC. (NBCDFW)
  2. Texas lawmakers, including Irving's own Representative Beth Van Duyne, are expressing their support for a U.S. ban on Russian oil imports and are calling for increased domestic production. "Our oil reserves are not a safety net for the Biden administration," wrote Rep. Van Duyne on Twitter. "[President Biden] must open the Keystone Pipeline, restart drilling on federal lands, and unleash American energy independence." (Texas Tribune)
  3. Looking for a new home? Three beautiful properties have just hit the market right here in Irving. There's a Southlake Court home with 2 beds and 1.5 baths for $200,000, a 2-bed, 2.5-bath home on Entrada Blvd. for $205,000, and a spacious 2,709 sq. ft. property on Buckingham Drive with 5 beds and 3 baths, going for $524,000.
