🌱Irving Officials Warn Of Pet Viruses + StrassenFest Beer Event

The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Irving.

Here are the top stories in Irving today:

  1. Cold weather has arrived once more, warns the Texas Division of Emergency Management. Officials want Texans to be aware of potentially dangerous cold wind chills this weekend. So layer up, turn off those sprinklers and travel safely. (CW33 Dallas)
  2. The Irving Fire Department reported to a fire at an abandoned home on Saturday, March 5, at around 3 a.m. The blaze was located near Las Colinas Elementary School. No injuries were reported, and the flames were out in about an hour. (Irving Weekly)
  3. Nimitz High School engineering students are working on creating a prosthetic to help a middle schooler play the violin, reports Lynnanne Nguyen. Sixth-grade student Khen Hoih was born without part of his left arm, but he isn't letting that hold him back. With help from the Nimitz senior engineering students and a 3D printer, Khen is now able to make music with the Lorenzo De Zavala Middle School orchestra. (FOX 4 News Dallas-Fort Worth)
  4. Parvo and distemper cases soar in pets in the Texan springtime, so City of Irving officials are warning pet owners to make sure their furry friends have up-to-date vaccinations.   5. It's that time again, ya'll! Don't forget to turn your clock ahead one hour. Daylight Savings Time begins at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 13. Officials say it's also a great time to test your fire alarms. (City of Irving)
