Killeen ISD trustees prepare for district-wide improvements (kcentv.com) — Killeen ISD leaders just reviewed major technology and student-support plans that will shape classrooms across Killeen over the next several years. Trustees heard how more than 25,000 aging student devices will be phased out by 2027 and approved $165,000 in agreements for alternative education, mental health services, and special education-focused outdoor learning that directly serve local students and families.
   

2. Family of woman killed after exiting moving truck on I-14 files lawsuit seeking justice (kxxv.com) — Killeen-area drivers on I-14 are learning more about a wrongful-death lawsuit filed after 25-year-old Faith Sidman died exiting a moving pickup on the freeway in July. Her family is seeking over $1 million from two Harker Heights bars and several drivers, alleging overservice and failures to stop and render aid, while multiple criminal cases tied to the incident continue.
   

3. Killeen council, P&Z to hold joint meeting on data centers, short-term rentals (kdhnews.com) — Killeen's City Council and Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Monday to hash out how the city should regulate data centers and short-term rentals, including low tax-compliance rates for Airbnbs. The joint session will also tackle council priorities and expectations for P&Z, following past disagreements and new efforts to tighten zoning rules around utilities, water use, and neighborhood impacts.
   

4. City of Killeen readies for annual Veterans Day Parade (fox44news.com) — Downtown Killeen will host the Central Texas Veterans Day Parade on Wednesday, November 11, giving residents a chance to honor local veterans together. The city will also be formally recognized as a regional Veterans Day site, and community groups, schools, and businesses can register free through November 9 to join the procession and related activities.
   

5. Hewitt ends Flock camera contract as state funding pause leaves cities weighing next steps (kcentv.com) — Killeen residents may see changes to police technology as the Killeen Police Department reviews whether it can keep using Flock license plate reader cameras after state grant funding was paused. A nearby city, Hewitt, has already ended its Flock contract for budget reasons, while Temple plans to continue the program into early next year unless the funding pause persists.
