• Lewisville Woman Arrested After Assaulting 72-Year-Old Woman at Park (irvingweekly.com) — Lewisville police recently arrested a 36-year-old woman on a felony Injury to Elderly charge after a 72-year-old woman reported being struck at a local park and captured the confrontation on cellphone video. Detectives reviewed the footage, obtained a warrant, and officers took the suspect into custody on August 11; she later posted bond while the case continues through the courts. 
• Freight Distress Report: More than 7,000 jobs cut in new wave of closures (freightwaves.com) — Lewisville is directly affected by a new round of freight and logistics layoffs, with Dylan Logistics planning to cut jobs at facilities in both Lewisville and Fort Worth on December 10. The report details more than 7,000 job losses nationwide as major freight, manufacturing, and distribution companies close or consolidate operations, reshaping trucking routes and warehouse employment.
• Texas Data Center Moratorium: Local Regulation & State Action (multistate.us) — Lewisville has joined other Texas cities in tightening oversight of data centers, now requiring a special use permit and two public hearings for any future projects. This comes as more than 100 local ordinances and a statewide audit ordered by Gov. Abbott temporarily pause new data center connections, reflecting growing concern over energy use, noise, and neighborhood impacts across Texas.
