Aldi Grocery Store Officials Plan Hiring Event For Prospective Employees At Pflugerville Site

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Aldi, a new grocery store based in Germany that is opening a location in Pflugerville, is staging another hiring event next week to fill its open slots.

The second such hiring event since early July, the job fair is designed to give prospective employees a chance to apply for employment and ask questions about the company. Store officials boast of offering wages that are higher than the national average in the retail industry, with starting pay at $12.25 an hour compared to the $7.25 minimum wage in Texas. The company also touts lower prices than its competitors.

The local store is located at 1415 FM 685 just east of Pfennig Lane.

Open slots include store associate and shift manager positions, officials said. The store associate position pays $12.25 per hour while the shift manager pays the same hourly wage plus and added $5 per hour premium when performing managerial duties, according to company officials.

Job seekers must be 18 years or older to apply, and should have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday. Retail experience is preferred , and applicants must undergo a drug screening and background check. Also, those seeking work at Aldi must be able to lift 45 pounds.

The job fair will be staged on Aug. 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Best Western Plus, 16101 Impact Way. Job seekers can apply in person at the hiring event. Fore more information, click HERE.
