The Travis County Sheriff's Office on Thursday charged a man in connection to the death of a man at a known transient camp location.
TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — Charges have been brought after the discovery of a dead homeless man in North Austin last month, officials said on Thursday.
The incident dates to May 21 shortly after 7 a.m. when deputies responded to a deceased person call along the 1700 block of East Parmer Lane, Travis County Sheriff's Office officials said in an emailed advisory. An abandoned home on the property is a known transient camp location, officials added.
Deputies at the site discovered a body wrapped in a carpet that was in an advanced state of decomposition. Further investigation revealed evidence the body had been located other places within the camp, officials said.
