Austin Police Seek Missing Teen Girl
Mariah Cardenas, 13, hasn't been seen since reportedly running away from her home along the 10100 block of Brownie Drive on Sunday.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are asking for the public's help in locating a missing girl believed to have run away from home.
Police on Tuesday said Mariah Cardenas, 13, has been missing since Sunday. An initial report from police on Monday indicated the teen had been accompanied by her 8-year-old sister, Savanah Frausto, when police were first alerted but the younger girl has since returned home and is safe.
Cardenas was last seen at a home along the 10100 block of Brownie Dr. on Sunday, June 2. The incident was reported to police the following day, according to a press advisory.

The Hispanic girl is described as standing at five feet, three inches tall and weighing 130 pounds with red hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, and blue shorts.
Anyone seeing the girl is urged to call 9-1-1 immeditately or submit tips by downloading the Austin Police Department's mobile app, Austin PD, for free on iPhone" and Android.

This marks the third time in recent days that children in Austin have been reported missing with the advent of summer. On Tuesday (June 4), police issued an advisory alerting that Elijah Thornton, 11, was missing after been last seen playing outside the apartment complex where he lives at 7227 E. Highway 290. Police later updated the report to alert the public the boy had been found safe.
And last week, police issued a plea for help in finding HIba Rashid, 14, and Rahaf Rashid, 7, who had last been seen along the 600 block of Masterson Pass on Monday, May 27, before an update was given that both were found safe. Like in the most recent missing children report, the previous one involved an older sibling taking along a younger one for company in running away from home.
