Dispute Over Pflugerville Street Ends; Agreement on New Name
The dispute lasted two weeks and was discussed at three separate City Council meetings.

After a two-week dispute over the renaming of a street in the Falcon Pointe subdivision of Pflugerville, residents and the city have come to an agreement.
As of a November 24 City Council Meeting, Pinyon Pine Lane will now be known as Peach Blossom Lane, reported the Austin American-Statesman. After voicing opposition to renaming the street Papershell Street — a name proposed by the subdivision’s designer — during City Council meetings on Nov. 10 and 17, residents finally agreed with city officials.
Originally residents were opposed to renaming the street because they would have to change their listed address on important documents and licenses.

Emily Barron, city planning director, echoed those concerns during a Nov. 10 meeting.
“This is a hardship to owners who have property on the street,” Barron said, according to the Statesman. “They will have to go through changing their addresses with a variety of entities.”

The city had deemed the name change necessary because emergency responders could confuse Pinyon Pine Lane for Pinon Pine Drive in the Heatherwilde subdivision.
