Grocer ALDI Schedules Job Fair For New Pflugerville Store

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Grocer ALDI has scheduled an upcoming job fair to fill a number of jobs at its newly opened store in Pflugerville.

The hiring event is scheduled to take place on Monday, Dec. 11 at the store at 1415 FM 685 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Officials hope to fill store associate positions that pay $12.35 per hour. Candidates should be at least 18 years old with at least a high school or GED. Applicants must be available to work between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday, should have retail experience and be able to lift up to 45 pounds.

ALDI staff average more than 25 hours a week are eligible for full health insurance benedits and dental coverage, company officials said. Employees also are invited to participate in the company's 401(k) program.

The Pflugerville store opened in early November to considerable fanfare. Member of the public invited to the opening were given tours of the new store, samples of some its wares and chances to win prizes.

Based in Germany, the company is known for offering wages and benefits that are higher than the national average in the retail industry. The grocer also boasts of its range of grocery items priced lower than competitors. Those distinctions have led to ALDI being named to the Forbes 2017 list of America's Best Large Employers for the third consecutive year, officials noted.

The grocer operates more than 1,600 U.S. stores in 35 states serving more than 40 million customers each month who save up to 50 percent on their grocery bills, "...benefiting from the ALDI simple and streamlined approach to retailing," company officials said.
