Police ID Man Shot Dead Outside The Domain In North Austin

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police identified the man who died after being shot in the parking lot of The Domain shopping mall earlier this week.

Adam Shorter, 19, died shortly after being taken to Round Rock Hospital when he was shot Tuesday, March 6, outside the Dick's Sporting Goods store at 3210 Kramer Lane. He was pronounced dead at 6:23 p.m., less then two hours after being hospitalized.

After interviewing witnesses, homicide detectives learned the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone bad. Two black suspects fled the scene after the shooting, police said. The first black male suspect was described as being in his early 20s with a medium build. He was wearing and T-shirt, blue jeans, and sported a short afro with and a fade on sides. The second black male was described as older (late 20s) with a belly and braided, pulled back hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt. The suspect vehicle was described as a red Saturn.

On Wednesday, March 7, 2018, the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy and ruled the cause of death as gunshot wound and the manner of death a homicide, police said.
