Police ID Mom, Teen Killed In N. Austin Drunk Driver-Caused Wreck
Guy Brasted, 41, faces 2 counts of intoxication manslaughter in deaths of Nancy Latulippe, 38, and Jackson Jackson Latulippe, 14.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Tuesday identified the victims of a multi-vehicle crash caused by a drunk driver this past weekend that took the life of a woman and child.
The collision in the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 11, occurred along the 9400 block of Research Boulevard. A preliminary investigation shows that Guy Brasted, 41, was driving a black Jeep Wranger northbound on Research Boulevard when he lost control and left the roadway.
The Jeep then slammed into a white, Fiat 500 that was traveling southbound. A third vehicle sustained damage in the resulting impact, police said. Brasted was ejected from the vehicle he was driving. Nancy Latulippe, 38, who was driving the Fiat, and passenger Jackson Latulippe, 14, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.

Two other passengers in the Fiat were transported to the hospital — an adult male with life-threatening injuries and a female child with non-life threatening injuries. The driver from the third vehicle was not transported for injuries.

Brasted was initially transported to Dell Seton Medical Center with life-threatening injuries that were later upgraded to be non-life threatening. Police said he now faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter and one count of intoxication assault.
This case is still being investigated. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at (512) 974-4424. This double fatality marked Austin’s 59th fatal traffic crash and the 60th fatality of 2017, police noted. At this time in 2016, there were 62 fatal traffic crashes and 63 traffic fatalities, officials added.
