Police ID Woman Who Died After Losing Control Of Motorcycle, Plunging To Death Off Overpass

Megan Siobhan Brennan, 28, lost control of her motorcycle on North Mopac and fell to her death onto a grassy median below.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Wednesday identified the woman who died this week after losing control of her motorcycle before plunging some 100 feet from an elevated overpass.

The accident occurred Tuesday at around 4:20 p.m. along the 9000 block of Research Boulevard. According to a police investigation, a woman riding a blue 2002 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle while traveling southbound on the North Mopac southbound ramp to Research Boulevard.

The operator of the motorcycles lost control on the ramp and struck a barrier on the right side. The impact caused the woman to fall onto a grassy median at the 9000 block of Research Boulevard. The victim, identified as Megan Siobhan Brennan, 28.

The accident marked the 23rd fatal traffic crash of 2017. At the same point last year, there had been 21 fatal crashes with the same number of fatalities.
