Police Seek North Austin Bank Robbery Suspect (Video)

Surveillance camera images, video of suspect who robbed Wells Fargo branch this week released to the public.

NORTH AUSTIN, TX — Police on Thursday released details on a bank robbery from the previous day in North Austin, including the release of video and surveillance camera images of the suspect who fled with cash.

The Wells Fargo bank branch in the 11200 block of North Interstate 35 was held up on Wednesday at about 4:30 p.m., according to an earlier police advisory. The suspect passed a note to a teller demanding cash before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

Members of the Austin Police Department's robbery unit are working in tandem with the FBI Central Texas Violent Crimes Task Force in investigating the Dec. 6 robbery. In the meantime, law enforcement officials have released images of the suspect in the hopes someone might recognize him and alert police as to his whereabouts.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 40 and 50 standing between five feet, eight inches and five feet, ten inches in height. He has a thin build and sports a beard. At the time of the bank heist, he was wearing a blue jacket, gray hat, blue jeans, black shoes and eyeglasses.
