'Purple Purse Challenge' Matches Donations To YWCA Greater Austin
Allstate Foundation this week matching first 100 donations of $50 or more to organization that empowers women and families.

AUSTIN, TX — The YWCA Greater Austin is participating in a fundraising drive in conjunction with the 2017 Allstate Foundation Purple Purse Challenge featuring matched donations and a potential prize for the local nonprofit.
As part of the "Bonus Challenge" this week, the first 100 online donations of $50 and up will get a $50 match, and the three organizations raising the most money online will get a $10,000 prize.
The YWCA Greater Austin has an ambitious mission, working each day to eliminate racism and empower women. Through advocacy and local programming, the organization effects real change for women, families and communities.

On Sept. 15, YWCA Greater Austin officials celebrated their 110th anniversary at the Spider House Ballroom at 2906 Fruth Street. Dubbed the "Fabulous People Party," the music-filled event also showcased moving narratives from women whose lives have been positively impacted by the resources offered at the YWCA Greater Austin. Emceed by Vanessa Gonzalez, the well-attended event showcased performances by Leticia Rodriguez aka Leti Garza; Austonettes; Maryann Price and Trio del Rio; Saul Paul; and The Mrs.

Founded in 1907, the YWCA is the first and longest-serving agency in Central Texas to work to eliminate racism and empower women by promoting the health and safety of women and girls, their economic empowerment and advancement and racial justice and civil rights, according to information found on its website.
"Each and every donation puts us one step closer to winning, so please CLICK HERE and give what you can," YWCA Greater Austin officials wrote in an email to supporters in referencing this week's Allstate challenge. "We really appreciate your support."
