Don't Worry If You See Smoke In Plano Tuesday Morning
Arbor Hills Nature Preserve will remain open to the public during a prescribed burn that will bring new life to the blackland prairie zones.

PLANO, TX — Officials in Plano will conduct a prescribed burn Tuesday morning at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve at 6701 W Parker Rd. in Plano. The burn will benefit ecological zones in the Preserve.
The burn is scheduled to begin around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, and will be overseen by Plano Parks Department and Plano Fire-Rescue.
Officials will burn off a thick layer of thatched, dead grass that has accumulated in the blackland prairie zone of the preserve. Burning dead grass exposes soil and allows naturally-growing prairie grass and flowers to again take root and germinate in the area. The burn will also kill off invasive species.
