• Hays County DA drops charges against San Marcos man at center of ICE detention case (cbsaustin.com) — Hays County prosecutors have dropped a criminal charge against a San Marcos man whose March traffic-stop arrest led to his detention by federal immigration authorities, while offering pretrial diversion to his 17-year-old son. The DA’s office said San Marcos officers acted within their authority but later concluded the situation resembled a parent seeking help, as a local advocacy group continues to push for the father’s release from ICE custody.
