Supporters tout hundreds of millions in future investment, while critics argue the zone should expire so rising tax revenue returns to the city's general fund.

3. San Antonio's first crisis nursery opens with a collaborative 'Puro San Antonio' model (tpr.org) — San Antonio families now have access to the region's first crisis nursery, a collaborative Safety Nest Network that links local nonprofits, child care centers and Respite Care of San Antonio to support parents in emergencies. 4. Texas horned lizards: Science is helping them to survive (kttz.org) — A long-running San Antonio Zoo program is quietly rebuilding Texas horned lizard populations by breeding them in the lab and releasing genetically tracked babies onto restored properties.
