- Former Spurs player, Tony Parker, owns a "collection of over 30 larger than-life-statues of film and comic book heroes and villains," and currently they are on display at the San Antonio Museum of Art (SAMA), located at 200 West Jones Ave. The statues will be there all summer, from June 10-Sept. 4. Dr. Emily Ballew Neff, Kelso director of SAMA, said, "We appreciate the legendary Tony Parker making his collection available to San Antonio." She added, "This exhibition will be a blast for anyone who has wondered what it would be like to stand face to face with a superhero or supervillain." For a Q&A with Parker visit: (KENS5.com)
- 'Works of art from "more than 30 local immigrant and first-generation artists" are now on display at "Centro de Artes gallery in Market Square," located at 101 S. Santa Rosa Ave. Krystal Jones, executive director interim for San Antonio's Department of Arts and Culture, said, "This exhibition reflects on the multilayered immigrant and first-generation experience shared by so many in our community.
