Here are the top stories in San Antonio today:

  1. On Sunday, Feb. 13, Eagles Flight Advocacy & Outreach members continued the search for 3-year-old Lina Khil, who disappeared on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021. The group searched "the green belt known as Fox Park Trailhead Northwest of downtown near the Medical Center area," but unfortunately, they did not find her yet. Frank Trevino, a search volunteer, said, "We're still hoping to find something to give us a clue of what happened to Lina. We have not had any information come forward, so we are still hoping to find something." The Islamic Center of San Antonio and Crime Stoppers are offering a total of $150,000 in rewards for any tips that may help find Lina. If you have any information, please call the San Antonio Police Department Missing Person's Unit at (210) 207-7660." (ksat.com)
  2. The Communities in Schools-San Antonio program recently received a "multi-million-dollar donation" to help schools in Bexar County. The mission of the program "is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life." Jessica Weaver, CEO of Communities in Schools-San Antonio, said, "The last two years have been challenging for everyone. And so, this gift has really been great. An uplift to the expansion that we've been asked for and so many of our districts have asked us to move into more schools." She explained that the "donation would mean further outreach in schools." For a video of Weaver's full interview on the topic, please visit: (KSAT San Antonio)
  3. On Saturday, Feb. 12, the Cano Health Clinic on the West Side of town was without power for hours. The problem occurred "because suspects allegedly cut electrical lines to steal copper." The amount of copper stolen was worth about $40, however, it's going to cost the clinic thousands of dollars to repair. Rafael Pena, Regional Director of Cano Health, said, ""I have medications in my refrigerators, I have vaccines -- not only flu but even Covid vaccines. I needed to make sure those were secure and safe, and we actually loaded those up into an ice chest and transported them to another clinic so that didn't compromise the integrity of the vaccines." Unfortunately, there is a lot of crime in the area and although Pena has not heard back from police regarding the suspects, he "has reached out to SAPD and the District 5 Councilwoman to see if they can add patrols to the area."
