  1. The first Tastemaker Awards ceremony was held on Tuesday, April 26 when the winners of this year's Best New Restaurant tournament were announced. The event was held at The Espee, located at 1174 E Commerce St. in downtown San Antonio. Before the ceremony, "guests mixed, mingled, and sampled delectable dishes from participants." 2. Tickets are now available for the 2022-23 season of the Public Theater of San Antonio, which kicks off on Friday, Sept. 9 "with a historic production of 'American Mariachi' by Jose Cruz Gonzalez. The upcoming season will feature the "music of Stephen Sondheim, Nina Simone and rowdy San Antonio punk group Fea" and it will be the organization's first show "produced by a Latino playwright." Executive artistic director Claudia de Vasco said, "It was very important to me to signal to our patrons that we aren't trying to change everything by continuing to produce beloved musicals, but to also signal that programming will start to reflect the diversity of this city and new audiences we are trying to reach as well." 3. A new coffee trailer called Rose Hip Coffee can be found at 95 Brees, "a few blocks north of the McNay Museum." Owner Katie Best-Richmond said, "the logo is inspired by her grandmother and the name is inspired by a book called 'Esperanza Rising' where the abuela always makes tea out of rose hips and she said when you drink that tea, you can see all the beauty that the flower ever saw." She said, "I wanted this to be a place the community can come together, they can share a cup of coffee and they can just celebrate the beautiful parts of life." The menu features Best-Richmond's sweets made "from scratch and her coffee syrups are all made with botanicals, such as 'Lavender Sage' or 'Honey Saffron.'" The business is "partnering with the San Antonio River Authority and the San Antonio River Foundation for their 'Coffee for Conservation' campaign" until the end of the month, and "if you bring a reusable cup to participating locations, "you can get 20 percent off your drink through the end of April (Earth Month)." 4. Crystal Lopez, 34, disappeared with her dog 5 years ago, and San Antonio Police and Crime Stoppers is asking the public's help in finding her. She had "wavy shoulder-length hair, a pierced nose, and a tattoo on her left wrist with the letters 'C-A' and was last seen around 8 a.m. on April 26, 2017." If you have any information, please call 224-STOP and "Crime stoppers may pay up $5,000 for any information that leads to an arrest of the person responsible." For more details visit: (KENS5.com)
