Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office leads statewide grain-theft investigation; multiple suspects arrested (seguintoday.com) — Seguin-area investigators have cracked a months-long, statewide grain-theft ring that began with a single local complaint and now involves more than 9 million pounds of stolen grain. The Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office is urging anyone who suspects missing grain or has tips to contact them or Crime Stoppers as the investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
   

2. Man faces sexual assault charges (seguintoday.com) — Seguin residents should know that a 40-year-old man has been arrested after a Guadalupe County Sheriff's Office investigation into a recent reported sexual assault on Still Meadow Road. Deputies say they worked overnight to identify a suspect and are asking anyone with additional information to contact the sheriff's office or Crime Stoppers.
   

3. Volleyball Recap: San Antonio Christian Stays Hot with Another Win, This Time over Seguin (maxpreps.com) — Seguin High School's volleyball team, the Matadors, dropped a close 2–1 home match to San Antonio Christian after winning the first set but falling in the next two. Standouts included Britlyn Walls and Elli Anderson, yet the loss extended Seguin's skid to four straight and moved their record to 5–13, with another defeat to Taft already on the books.
   

4. November 29, 1938 to August 20, 2026 (87) (cueroonlinenews.com) — Family and friends are mourning Lucille "Sister" Lawrence, who passed away in Seguin on August 20 at age 87 after a life of caregiving, laughter, and devotion to loved ones. Services are set for Saturday, September 5, at Thiele-Cooper Funeral Home, followed by burial at Bluebonnet Cemetery, with her children, grandchildren, and extended family honoring her memory.
