FAA invests $870 million in airport infrastructure improvements (fmlink.com) — Sugar Land Regional Airport is set to receive $3.5 million in federal funding to reconstruct its runway, part of an $870 million FAA investment in airports nationwide. The grant aims to boost safety and improve infrastructure as air travel demand grows, putting Sugar Land alongside major hubs like LAX and Miami in this funding round. 
2. Fort Bend ISD shares draft boundary scenarios for secondary schools (communityimpact.com) — Fort Bend ISD is floating new secondary school boundary scenarios that could shift hundreds of Sugar Land and Missouri City students to relieve crowding at Austin, Elkins, Travis, Clements and Dulles high schools. No secondary campuses would close, but two different options for easing Elkins' enrollment are on the table, and families are being encouraged to review the draft maps and get involved.
3. Top hospitals in Texas for 2026 ranked by U.S. News and World Report (star-telegram.com) — Sugar Land residents can take pride that Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital both made U.S. News' 2026 list of top regional hospitals in Texas. The rankings spotlight Houston Methodist Sugar Land again for cancer care, underscoring strong specialty options close to home while comparing how leading hospitals across the state stack up.
4. Mike Burrows Turns in 2nd Scoreless Rehab Start for Sugar Land (crawfishboxes.com) — Sugar Land Space Cowboys pitcher Mike Burrows delivered 4.2 scoreless rehab innings Thursday night at Constellation Field, helping secure a 3–2 win over the Oklahoma City Comets. Burrows carried a no-hitter into the fifth, allowing only three baserunners before turning things over to the bullpen to strand a runner in scoring position.
