Freedom 250 mobile museum coming to Victoria County (victoriaadvocate.com) — Victoria County residents can explore a free, interactive Freedom 250 Mobile Museum outside the Pattie Dodson Public Health Center from Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The traveling exhibit, recognized locally as Freedom 250 Museum Week, highlights the nation's founding with multimedia displays and hands-on activities. Families can even add their names to a digital Declaration of Independence.

COVID-19 cases rise across Crossroads area (victoriaadvocate.com) — Hospitals in the Victoria area are seeing a noticeable rise in COVID-19 cases, with Citizens and DeTar reporting increased positive tests and some hospitalizations in August. Local health officials explain that formal case reporting has changed, urge residents to test when sick, stay home if ill, and note updated vaccines targeting current variants will be available for the coming fall season.

4. Victoria Parks and Recreation to host Merry on Main vendor market and seeks vendors (crossroadstoday.com) — Victoria vendors and shoppers can look ahead to the Merry on Main vendor market, set for the evening of Dec. 11 in downtown Victoria, with applications open now through Oct. 31. Hosted by Victoria Parks and Recreation, the event will feature local vendors, live music, food trucks, foam "snow," and kids' activities. The city is also preparing for the Dec. 5 tree lighting and lighted parade.

Goliad picks up 19th consecutive win in straight set victory over Victoria West (crossroadstoday.com) — A strong Goliad Tigerettes volleyball squad came into Victoria and swept Victoria West in straight sets, extending their winning streak to 19 matches. The Warriors briefly challenged in the second set, but Goliad controlled play throughout. Their coach says the team is focused on using tough road games like this to keep improving.

- I wanted to provide a little insight on GLPs...
