'We're more than just a badge': Faith and Blue brings officers, faith groups together (kwtx.com) — Waco residents are invited to join Faith and Blue events that bring local law enforcement and faith communities together for open conversations and relationship-building. Detective Alvin Smith from Waco PD's Neighborhood Engagement Team says the gatherings help humanize officers, encourage positive interactions, and give neighbors a chance to talk directly with police in a relaxed, community-focused setting.
   

2. CTC students get firsthand look at skilled trades careers during Lochridge-Priest tour (kdhnews.com) — Central Texas College students recently toured the Lochridge-Priest facility in Waco, getting a close look at real-world plumbing, HVAC, welding, and construction careers with a major local employer. The visit connected classroom training to actual fabrication and service jobs, highlighted mentoring and advancement opportunities, and encouraged students with learning challenges to pursue skilled trades that are in high demand across the Waco area.
   

3. Tesla Sets Roadster Reveal Date, RSVP Deadline Looms (motor1.com) — Waco will host Tesla's long-awaited Roadster reveal on October 1, 2026, with the event set for 8:30 p.m. and limited to existing reservation holders who RSVP by September 16. The gathering, just up the road from Tesla's Austin base and SpaceX's McGregor site, is expected to showcase the high-performance electric sports car and possibly hint at production plans in Texas.
   

4. Higher prices hit Central Texas households (kxxv.com) — Central Texas families, including those in Waco, are feeling higher costs for gas, groceries, and housing, even as some residents say their pay is keeping up. AAA reports Waco gas prices averaging about $3.92 per gallon this September, up sharply from last year, while federal data shows grocery prices in the region have climbed more than 3 percent.
