Waco woman accused of choking child off the ground also resisted arrest, police say (kwtx.com) — Waco police recently arrested a local woman who's accused of choking a visiting child until he couldn't breathe, then using her own young daughter as a shield while resisting officers at her South 12th Street apartment. She faces felony child injury and endangerment charges plus resisting arrest, and was booked into McLennan County Jail before being released on bond.
   

4. Waco man assaulted and choked ex-boyfriend; victim had multiple bite marks, police say (kwtx.com) — Waco police arrested a 31-year-old man after a 45-minute barricade situation tied to an alleged assault and choking of his ex-boyfriend at a Clay Avenue apartment. Officers say the victim had multiple bite marks and other injuries, and the suspect is now in McLennan County Jail on a felony family-violence strangulation charge with bond set at $10,000.
   

5. Car Seat Safety Front & Center At Local Child Passenger Safety Event (everythinglubbock.com) — Waco parents got hands-on help checking and even replacing child car seats at a TxDOT-led safety event at Church of the Open Door. With only about 67% of local kids properly buckled in, technicians walked families through correct installation and pointed them to LoveMyCarSeat.org for ongoing guidance and local checkup appointments.
