• Fundraiser set up for North Texas first responder who lost wife, sons in fire (star-telegram.com) — A Parker County first responder whose home near Weatherford burned Monday night is receiving community support after losing his wife and two young sons in the fire. A benevolent fund has been set up to help with funeral costs and ongoing needs, and organizers are urging North Texans to donate or share the appeal to stand behind a man who has long served others.

• Renee Rachelle Abel - Aug. 1, 1958 - Aug. 12, 2026 (fortworthreport.org) — Weatherford readers may know Renee Rachelle Abel through her son Casey and daughter-in-law Lauren Abel of Weatherford, as the family mourns her passing at 68. A devoted wife, mother, educator, and grandmother, she was known for her welcoming home, deep love for children, and long career in special education and reading support. Services will be held September 3 in Hillsboro, Missouri, with friends and family invited to celebrate her life.
