North Dakota 2016 Democratic Caucus Results: Sanders Wins
Bernie Sanders built an early 30-point lead in North Dakota. And then kept going.

Bernie Sanders wins.
That's the story out of the North Dakota Democratic Primary Caucus.
Sanders - with some votes still to b counted - has 64.3 percent to Hillary Clinton's 25.6 percent.

The results give Sanders 13 delegates and Clinton five delegates.
The state has five super delegates.

North Dakota may be the smallest state to have an election Tuesday, but Sanders sees every vote he can get, every delegate he can get, as essential.
It may be too late, though.
The Associated Press declared Clinton the presumptive candidate.

North Dakota's Democrats are voting in a series of caucuses across the state to select 18 delegates to go along with the state's five superdelegates.
Both the Sanders and Clinton campaigns have been working to get people out to the caucuses Tuesday night.
As caucus time approached, Sanders went to Twitter to remind people to get there on time.
North Dakota: today we caucus. Get to your caucus by 7 pm. If there's a large voter turnout, we will win. Join history in the making.

One of the things that makes North Dakota interesting is it is the only state in the country without voter registration. All people have to do to vote on Tuesday is sign a form saying they will participate in November as a Democrat.
The caucuses begin at 7 p.m. local time.
While Clinton has not campaigned in North Dakota, her husband was in Fargo on her behalf on May 20. She has received the endorsement of the majority of the state's establishment Democrats, including Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, former governor George Sinner, former Senators Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad, former U.S. Rep. Earl Pomeroy and former U.S. Attorney Tim Pardon.
It doesn't mean it's a clinch for her.
Sanders made three stops during a campaign swing through the state on May 13 and opened a campaign office in Fargo just more than a week ago.
He has also done well in Midwest states and in caucus states.
The Republican Party in North Dakota does not have a primary or caucus. The delegates are selected by party leaders.
