Kevin Spacey Won't Receive Award After Sex Assault Allegations
The 2017 International Emmy Founders Award honors individuals who cross "cultural boundaries to touch humanity."

NEW YORK, NY — Following allegations that Kevin Spacey made sexual advances on a teen boy, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences decided not to give the actor an award.
The group said it will "not honor Kevin Spacey with the 2017 International Emmy Founders Award," which honors individuals who cross "cultural boundaries to touch humanity." Past recipients include Steven Spielberg, Shonda Rhimes and J.J. Abrams.
Spacey was to receive it at a Nov. 20 gala in New York City.

The move comes after actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of making inappropriate sexual advances toward him in 1986, when he was 14. Netflix announced Monday it was pulling the plug on "House of Cards," which stars Spacey.
Spacey released a statement late Sunday saying he does not remember sexually assaulting Rapp.

"I honestly do not remember the encounter," Spacey said in a statement on Twitter. "If I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior.
"I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years."
