The news briefing on Thursday comes the same day that reports surfaced of a record number of American filing for unemployment last week, and less than 24 hours after the U.S. Senate approved the largest relief legislation in the country's history.

In other news on Thursday, the Trump administration is seeking to station troops near the US-Canada border to prevent illegal crossings, according to Trudeau.
