Cobb Community is "Backing the Need"
NEW backpacks and school supplies are being collected by <a href="https://kids-care2018.org/how-to-help" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">KIDS CARE</a> and the Cobb County Police Department for local students in need during the 6th Annual <a href="https://sites.google.com/kids-care2018.org/backingtheneed/home?authuser=0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">"Backing the Need" Backpack &amp; School Supply Drive</a>.
Donations can be dropped off now through July 18 at <a href="https://sites.google.com/kids-care2018.org/backingtheneed/where-to-donate?authuser=0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">participating business collection sites</a> throughout Cobb County, or bring your donations to our Community Donation &amp; Volunteer Event at:

While you drop off your donation, enjoy several FREE family-fun activities:
<ul><li>Meet Cobb County Police Officers and tour a patrol vehicle</li><li>Meet Rose, the Comfort Dog</li><li>Recycle with Keep Cobb Beautiful</li><li>Enjoy music from DJ Meltron</li></ul>
Since launching in 2021, this community-wide effort has donated 3,084 backpacks to Cobb County students in need. Last year the drive collected and distributed 1,121 backpacks with school supplies to local nonprofit organizations serving children and families throughout Cobb County.
There are three easy ways to help:
<ul><li><a href="https://sites.google.com/kids-care2018.org/backingtheneed/where-to-donate?authuser=0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Donate</a> new backpacks and school supplies at one of our community collection sites or on July 18.</li><li><a href="https://sites.google.com/kids-care2018.org/backingtheneed/shop-online?authuser=0" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Shop Online</a> through KIDS CARE's Amazon or Walmart Wish Lists.</li><li>Give Financially - 100% of <a href="https://kids-care2018.org/donate" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">monetary donations</a> made through July 18 will be used to purchase backpacks and school supplies.</li></ul>

The premiere, family-friendly gaming event in the Southeast, the Southern-Fried Gaming Expo (SFGE) is a celebration of all types of gaming, including video games, tabletop board games, role-playing games, and more. Our featured attraction includes over 500 arcade games, pinball machines, and console video games to transform the Cobb Convention Center into "Georgia's Largest Arcade" July 31-August 2, 2026. With over 1,400+ board games in our free-play tabletop library, special guest panels, gaming tournaments, live music, professional wrestling, a hot pepper-eating contest, movie screenings, and more, there truly is something for everyone to enjoy at SFGE!
