San Francisco Circus Center welcomes BIPOC and LGBTQ+ community members for an evening of movement, connection, and play. Your donation helps us keep circus training accessible while honoring the creativity and leadership of underrepresented artists. This evening is offered as a sliding scale event so that finances are not a barrier to entry. Typically we charge $5 for entry and $10 for each trapeze swing. If you can donate more to cover someone else’s experience, we’d appreciate it. If you don’t have the financial means to donate, please register for a $0 ticket.
For BIPOC community who would like support funding their ticket, please email <a href="mailto:info@BIPOCacro.com" target="_blank">info@</a><a href="https://bacces.org/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">BACCES.org</a> and BACCES (BIPOC Acro Collective Care Ecosystem) will cover your ticket.
Expect supportive coaches, low-pressure skill building, and space to explore aerial, acrobatics, and clowning at your own pace. Whether you’re trying circus for the first time or returning to practice, you belong in our ring.

Join Galilee Harbor Community Association—a member-run cooperative marina on the Sausalito waterfront—for its annual Maritime Day on Saturday, August 1st, 2026.
Maritime Day is a family-friendly, admission-free celebration of the vibrant community of artists and maritime workers who call Galilee home. Enjoy free boat rides on the bay, live music throughout the day, visits aboard open boats and historic vessels, delicious fish and chips, homemade desserts, and local artist booths. Boat-building demonstrations will showcase the craftsmanship of Sausalito’s working waterfront. Musical performances from String, Skin, and Breath, Musiq for the Soul, Salt Over the Shoulder, Diogo Sabre &amp; Band,&nbsp; will provide a lively soundtrack from start to finish. Galilee Harbor is a self-sustaining, low-income cooperative committed to preserving waterfront access for all. Maritime Day is both a celebration and a fundraiser to support this mission and help repair climate-change-related damage to our docks and infrastructure.

Bing Concert Hall

The Stanford Summer Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Summer Chorus will perform "Lobgesang" (Hymn of Praise), Felix Mendelssohn's epic "symphony-cantata", on July 31 and August 1 in Bing Concert Hall. Considered one of Mendelssohn's greatest works, it was the first symphony after Beethoven's 9th to combine orchestra and chorus. The soloists are sopranos Esther Tonea and Jennie Yukyung Byun and tenor Chance Jonas-O'Toole. Esther is a former Adler Fellow at SF Opera and winner of the prestigious Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Chance Jonas-O'Toole, a former member of the Merola Program at SF Opera, sang with Deutsche Oper Berlin for the past two seasons and is now back singing with SF Opera. Jennie Yukyung Byun is a prominent soprano soloist living the Bay Area. Conductor Paul Phillips is the Gretchen B. Kimball Director of Orchestra Studies at Stanford, where he also directs the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Philharmonia. The program opens with an overture by the remarkable British opera composer Ethel Smyth and a choral work, "Heavenly Home", arranged by Shawn Kirchner and conducted by Rafael Ornes.
