Roger White, Neighbor

Writing, my family and an interest in government, politics and people who make life interesting have always been important to me.  My work career includes 21 years in newspaper reporting, editing and photography in Georgia and South Carolina along with 16 years as a counselor.  I was born in northest Georgia and spent most of my life around this great state.  I enjoy traveling and most of that has been in the southeast and through the southwest.  Much of my free time is spent outside where there is so much to see and do.  One of my goals is working on a non fiction book.  The pervasive ongoing crisis when a family member suffers mental illness has opened my eyes to the problems that are being ignored by leaders in the justice system, health care and government.  Mental illness like schizophrenia affects about 2 per cent of the people, but until it hits your family, no one seems to understand hofw devastating that can be and how we the people and the government are failing.
