1. Downtown's premier arts venues now include free transit thro... (cityweekly.net) — If you're heading to downtown Salt Lake City for a show, your ArtTix ticket now doubles as free fare on UTA buses, TRAX, FrontRunner and more to venues like Abravanel Hall, Eccles Theater, Capitol Theatre and Rose Wagner. The county–UTA partnership aims to ease parking headaches, boost transit use, and make it simpler to enjoy the busy fall arts season.
   

2. Utah's versatile offense faces first test in Arkansas (abc4.com) — Utah football fans in Salt Lake City can look ahead to a major early-season test as the Utes host Arkansas at Rice-Eccles Stadium after dismantling Idaho with a 633-yard offensive outburst. Coaches and players say the balanced, spread-the-ball attack is intentional, and they're now focused on handling the Razorbacks' size and representing both the Big 12 and the state well.
   

3. This Utah Mountain Is Hiding Enough Ice To Fill 600 Olympic Pools (scitechdaily.com) — Just a short drive from Salt Lake City, Mount Timpanogos is hiding a rock glacier with enough buried ice to fill about 600 Olympic pools, according to new University of Utah research. Scientists used sensitive gravity measurements to map the hidden ice, suggesting Utah's many rock glaciers quietly store vast water reserves that could matter for future mountain hydrology.
   

4. Labor Day DUI enforcement highlights efforts to prevent impaired driving in Utah (ksl.com) — Salt Lake City–area drivers are being reminded about the dangers of impaired driving after Labor Day weekend DUI blitzes and a suspected impaired fatal crash in Salt Lake County. Utah Highway Patrol and dozens of agencies added hundreds of overtime shifts, while a local legislator considers new penalties for repeat offenders and bars linked to high DUI rates.
