SLCPD officers shot man after using taser, civilian vehicle struck during incident (abc4.com) — Salt Lake City police say officers shot and seriously injured a man Monday night near 575 East 400 South after a Taser failed to stop him as he allegedly brandished a knife. Unified Police will lead an outside investigation, involved officers are on leave, and the department is also reviewing how a bystander's vehicle was struck by a bullet. 
2. Real estate firm buys century-old Salt Lake City building, plans $40M renovation (ksl.com) — A major commercial real estate firm is moving its headquarters into the historic Ford Building in downtown Salt Lake City and investing $40 million to renovate the century‑old landmark. The project will add extensive employee amenities and comes as the surrounding Rio Grande area, including Pioneer Park and the depot, is undergoing broader upgrades and redevelopment planning.
3. September 17 - KUER Pint Night: Level Crossing (kuer.org) — KUER is hosting a Pint Night on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Level Crossing Brewing Co. in downtown Salt Lake City, offering $4 pints on select beers and a limited‑edition KUER logo glass for a $20 donation. Listeners can meet on‑air host Bob Nelson and other staff from 6 to 9 p.m. at the 550 S. 300 W. location.
4. How costly is Great Salt Lake's dust? A working paper says it could be in the billions (ksl.com) — Researchers say dust from the shrinking Great Salt Lake could be costing Utahns, including Salt Lake City residents downwind, up to a few billion dollars a year in health impacts alone. Their new working paper suggests that spending billions to secure more water for the lake may actually be cheaper than continuing to absorb mounting medical and economic losses from worsening dust storms.
5. Neuroscience Sales Representative (Salt Lake City, UT & Denver, CO territory) – Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine (jnj.com) — Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is hiring a Neuroscience Sales Representative whose territory includes Salt Lake City and Denver, supporting psychiatric treatments like CAPLYTA.
