Utah's Nepali Community Gathers in Salt Lake City to Mourn Nepal Flooding Victims, Support Families With Missing Relatives as Donations Begin for Relief Efforts (parktelegraph.com) — Members of Utah's Nepali community gathered at Salt Lake City Hall for a candlelight vigil, mourning loved ones lost or missing in Nepal's devastating floods while organizing local relief donations. Residents described the emotional strain of waiting for news from overseas and said the event offered rare comfort, shared grief, and practical ways for Salt Lakers to support families still in limbo.
3. Utahns pay tribute to those affected by cancer through American Cancer Society Lights of Hope Event (abc4.com) — Salt Lake City volunteers gathered at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge this weekend, lighting tribute bags to honor Utahns affected by cancer and raise money for advocacy. Organizers say the Lights of Hope event personalizes cancer for policymakers and helps push for stronger research funding and access to treatment. A group of local advocates will soon take those stories directly to members of Congress.
4. Braden Pegan will be one of the most important factors in Utes' offensive success (deseret.com) — Wide receiver Braden Pegan, now in Salt Lake City with the Utes, is emerging as a key piece of Utah's new-look offense under coordinator Kevin McGiven. Coaches praise his size, leadership, and chemistry with quarterback Devon Dampier, and believe his big-play ability at practices in Salt Lake could finally give Utah its first 1,000-yard receiver in more than a decade.
5. Utah governor is not running for president, but he's out to save the country — with a new book (deseret.com) — Utah Gov.
