Project Overview
Bring history and literature to life! We are seeking dynamic, friendly characters for the upcoming Words Trail event. Instead of a traditional stage play, individuals will interact directly with attendees, roaming the event space, engaging in conversations in character, and reading selected excerpts from the authors' famous literary works.
⚠️ No Memorization: You will be reading directly from selected literary materials during your interactions. The focus is on characterization, audience engagement, and presence.
Available author portrayals:
Frederick Douglass
Description: African American male, 20s–60s. To portray the iconic abolitionist, orator, and author.
Key Traits: Needs a commanding presence, a resonant and engaging speaking voice, and the ability to convey dignity, passion, and intellect.
Pearl S. Buck
Description: Asian American*, 20s–60s. To portray the Nobel and Pulitzer Prize-winning author known for her rich storytelling and advocacy.
Key Traits: Warm, articulate, culturally insightful, and excellent at conversational storytelling.
No auditions just a commitment to interact with audiences. We will help provide literary historical material for each writer.
