• Church Street Marketplace Commission asks Gov. Scott for help (mychamplainvalley.com) — Downtown Burlington business owners say Church Street is in a "state of emergency" and have asked Gov. Phil Scott for immediate help. Their letter urges the state to fund a 100-bed year-round shelter, restore an Accountability Court, reopen key mental health services, and keep state troopers in the city to address homelessness and crime pressures on local shops.

• Charlie's Boathouse Property to Be Conserved, Turned Into Park (sevendaysvt.com) — A beloved Burlington waterfront spot at the end of North Avenue, long known as Charlie's Boathouse, has been bought by the Winooski Valley Park District and will be turned into public parkland. The 2.7-acre parcel on Lake Champlain will stay closed until safety work is done, with the district aiming to open it for recreation, likely in the spring.
