The seventh annual KORUS festival, held in front of the on John Marr Drive, begins on Friday, Sept. 17 from 6-10 p.m. and continues throughout the weekend from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Hosted by the KORUS House of the Korean Embassy, the Korean American Association of the Washington Metropolitan Area, the newspaper, newspaper and others, the three-day festival attracts hundreds of people from the Annandale community and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and will showcase traditional Korean dances and food. Both Korean and American performance artists will be featured such as GamblerCrew, a Korean b-boy team, singer Park Mi Kyung, soft rock acting/singing duo The Blue, and Kaba Modern, a hip-hop dance crew from California known for their innovative style and choreography. Kaba Modern was a finalist on the MTV show "America's Best Dance Crew".
