Hit-And-Run Crash Kills Pedestrian In Annandale: Police

ANNANDALE, VA — Fairfax County Police are asking for information on a driver after a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian in Annandale Tuesday. The crash resulted in the county's 10th pedestrian fatality in 2020.

The crash happened on Hummer Road near Royce Court around 6:08 a.m. A pedestrian walking in the southbound lanes was struck by a vehicle heading south on Hummer Road. The pedestrian, Angel Paz Lopez, 42, of Alexandria, was pronounced dead on scene.

The vehicle was described as a dark colored sedan. It was unclear if speed or alcohol factored into the crash.

Police are seeking the driver, whose vehicle is a green four-door sedan with potential front end damage. Hummer Road has reopened between Little River Turnpike and Annandale Road following the investigation.
