How Many Businesses Closed in Annandale? 2013 Year in Review

Not every Annandale business will be around to ring in the new year. Here's a look back at the ones that have closed.

2013 was a busy year for Fairfax County, but also for the Annandale community. In addition to the usual school and police news, there were also some changes with a few longtime Annandale businesses. 

While many new businesses opened, a couple of of places shut their doors for good.

Here's a look back at some of the business that closed this year, as reported by Annandale Patch.

BonChon

In a move that surprised residents in Annandale early in the year, BonChon was replaced by a similar Korean food restaurant, but one without the signature chicken wings.

Campbell & Ferrara Outdoor Living 

The longtime garden center and landscape business relocated to the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County earlier this year after more than 60 years in the Annandale-area.

Blockbuster Video

When the company announced plans to close 300 stores, the Annandale location was among them.

Annandale Sport & Health Club

The Annandale Sport & Health Club closed in June after more about 30 years in the community.

Buenos Grill

The self-described fast-casual Mexican restaurant closed after less than a year in Annandale.

Healthway Natural Foods

Another longtime business and healthy food store Healthway Natural Foods also left the community this year.

Joseph's Coat

After almost a year at its new location in Annandale, the thrift store closed in July.
