Report: Alleged Hostage Incident Shuts Roadways Monday in Annandale

Woman was reportedly trying to leave, but her boyfriend wouldn't let her, WJLA reports. Police said she and her boyfriend both face charges.

A reported domestic incident turned serious Monday afternoon and into the evening along Columbia Pike in Annandale, where police closed nearby roadways after a man was allegedly holding his girlfriend hostage, reportedly refusing to let her leave a residence, according to a report by WJLA.

Fairfax County Police reported shortly after 10:30 p.m. on Twitter: “Columbia Pike barricade resolved. Both male and female in custody. Charges pending.”

WJLA reported that the incident began at about 4:45 p.m. Columbia Pike was closed from Sleepy Hollow Road to the Golden Living Center across from Mason District Park.
