18-Year-Old From Alexandria Arrested In Shooting On N. Courthouse Road
Arlington County Police arrested an 18-year-old from Alexandria they say fired a gun and injured a man May 19 in a hotel parking lot.

ARLINGTON, VA — An 18-year-old Alexandria man is facing multiple charges in connection with a shooting following a dispute in a hotel parking lot in the Courthouse area.
With the assistance of the Alexandria Police Department, ACPD detectives from the Homicide/Robbery Unit arrested A-Jay Jones of Alexandria on Wednesday. They charged Jones with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was then held without bond in the Arlington County Detention Facility.
Officers responded around 2:50 a.m. on May 19 to reports of shots fired in the area of the 1200 block of North Courthouse Road where two groups had been fighting verbally, police said. During the dispute, a male fired a gun, hitting a man and two parked vehicles, according to police, who said the man took himself to a hospital and was in critical condition. The shooter, later identified as Jones, fled before officers arrived, police said.

ACPD are still searching for other suspects in connection with the May 19 shooting.
