2 Teens Cited For Assault After Attacking Police Officer Arresting Another Teen: ACPD
Two teens responded to the arrest of a third teen by attacking an Arlington police officer in Pentagon City, authorities say.

ARLINGTON, VA — Two teens are facing assault on police charges after they attacked Arlington County officer who was in the process of arresting a third teen for larceny in the Pentagon City area on Thursday night, according to authorities.
While conducting extra checks in the 1100 block of South Hayes Street, an officer was alerted by security personnel about a larceny that had just occured.
"The preliminary investigation indicates Suspect One, a juvenile male in his teens, allegedly entered a business, collected merchandise and exited without payment," according to the incident report. "The officer observed Suspect One fleeing the scene and gave him commands to stop which the suspect disregarded."

Once the officer had caught up with the suspect and began to detain him, a male teenager and a female in her teens began to assault the officer, according to the report.
With the help of additional arriving officers and security personnel, the three teens were taken into custody, according to police. The officer who was assaulted sustained minor injuries, but he did not need medical attention.

For Suspect One, police obtained petitions for shoplifting and obstruction of justice, according to police. They also obtained petitions for assault on police and obstruction of justice for the two other teenagers.
