21-Year-Old Reston Man Charged In Arlington Sex Crimes Case: Police
A 21-year-old Reston man was charged in Arlington after a police investigation into possible crimes against a victim under the age of 18.

ARLINGTON, VA — A 21-year-old Reston man has been charged by the Arlington County Police Department with sex offenses against a teenager under the age of 18, police said Tuesday. The department also said it is seeking other potential victims of the suspect.
Matthew Coble was charged in Arlington last Friday with three counts of indecent liberties with a child and production of child pornography, according to police. He is being held in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond.
In a separate case, Coble was found guilty by an Arlington County jury on July 13 of aggravated sexual battery of a mentally incapacitated or physically helpless individual.

Coble sexually abused the victim at a public park in Arlington on July 24, 2020, according to evidence presented at his trial by prosecutors.
His sentencing in the earlier case is scheduled for Dec. 15, ARLnow reported. The range of punishment in Virginia for aggravated sexual battery is a period of incarceration between one and 20 years and a fine of up to $100,000.

On Tuesday, Arlington police said its special victims unit is seeking other possible victims of Coble. Police received information on Sept. 18 about crimes that occurred in 2020 and immediately started the investigation into him, the department said.
