2nd Armed Carjacking In Pentagon City In 1 Week: Report
Arlington County Police detectives are investigating two armed carjackings that occurred within a week of each other in Pentagon City.
ARLINGTON, VA -- Arlington County Police are investigating two armed carjackings that occurred within a week of each other in Pentagon City.
In the most recent incident, officers were dispatched Thursday, Jan. 30, around 10:15 p.m., to the 800 block of Army Navy Drive for the report of an armed carjacking, according to the daily crime report. Arriving on the scene, officers learned the suspect had approached the victim as she was arriving at her vehicle. He pointed a firearm, took her keys and fled the scene in the victim's vehicle, which is described as a gray Toyota Corolla with Virginia tags, VWG1216. Police describe the suspect as a black male with a skinny build, about 5-foot-10 to 6-feet in height. He was wearing a black sweatshirt.
The armed carjacking comes a week after similar incident in Pentagon City. In that case, a suspect stole a black Mercedes C300 at gunpoint on Thursday, Jan. 23, at 1:50 p.m., in the 1100 block of S. Hayes Street.

Detectives from ACPD's Homicide/Robbery Unit are investigating both carjackings and working to determine what, if any, connection exists between them, according to Kirby Clark, ACPD communications specialist.
